چکیده

The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) Gamma-Ray Observatory surveys the very high energy sky in 300 GeV to $>100$ TeV range. HAWC has detected two blazars above $11\sigma$, Markarian 421 (Mrk 421) and 501 501). observations are comprised of data taken period between June 2015 July 2018, resulting a $\sim 1038$ days exposure. In this work we report time-averaged spectral analysis for both sources 0.5 TeV. Taking into account flux attenuation due extragalactic background light (EBL), intrinsic spectrum Mrk is described by power law with an exponential cut-off index $\alpha=2.26\pm(0.12)_{stat}(_{-0.2}^{+0.17})_{sys}$ $E_c=5.1\pm(1.6)_{stat}(_{-2.5}^{+1.4})_{sys}$ TeV, while better simple $\alpha=2.61\pm(0.11)_{stat}(_{-0.07}^{+0.01})_{sys}$. maximum energies at which signals 9 12 respectively. This makes these some highest detections date spectra averaged over years-long timescales. Since observation gamma radiation from provides information about physical processes that take place their relativistic jets, it important study broad-band distribution (SED) objects. To purpose, contemporaneous gamma-ray band X-ray range, literature radio UV were used build SEDs modeled within synchrotron self-Compton leptonic scenario.

Intrinsic Spectra of the TeV Blazars Mrk 421 and Mrk 501

Energy spectra of γ-ray blazars may contain an imprint from the cosmic infrared background radiation due to γ-ray absorption (pair-production) by soft photons constituting the extragalactic background light (EBL). The signature of this imprint depends on the spectral shape of the EBL. In this work we correct the observed spectra of Mrk 421 and Mrk 501 for absorption using different possible rea...

Long - Term X - Ray and Tev Variability of Mrk 501

We present X-ray observations of the nearby TeV blazar Mrk 501 obtained with RXTE during 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2004. The goal of this study is twofold: 1) characterize the long-term X-ray flux and spectral variability of the source with a model-independent analysis, and 2) investigate the X-ray and TeV correlation on long timescales (> days). Significant spectral variations were observed ...

SIMULTANEOUS CONSTRAINTS ON THE SPECTRUM OF THE EXTRAGALACTIC BACKGROUND LIGHT AND THE INTRINSIC TeV SPECTRA OF Mrk 421, Mrk 501, and H1426+428

Very high energy (∼ TeV) γ-rays from blazars are attenuated by photons from the extragalactic background light (EBL). Observations of blazars can therefore provide an ideal opportunity for determining the EBL intensity if their intrinsic spectrum is known. Conversely, knowledge of the EBL intensity can be used to determine the intrinsic blazar spectrum. Unfortunately, neither the EBL intensity ...

The Nonlinear Long - term X - ray Variability of Mrk 421

In this work, I present the results of a thorough nonlinear time series analysis study concerning the long-term variability behaviour of Mrk 421. I use all the archival data obtained by the proportional counter array (PCA) and the all-sky monitor (ASM) aboard the Rossi X-ray timing explorer (RXTE), since 1996. Linearity and stationarity tests reveal that the long-term timing properties of the s...

Limits from rapid TeV variability of Mrk 421

The extreme variability event in the TeV emission of Mrk 421, recently reported by the Whipple team, imposes the tightest limits on the typical size of the TeV emitting regions in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN). We examine the consequences that this imposes on the bulk Lorentz factor of the emitting plasma and on the radiation fields present in the central region of this Active Nucleus. No strong...
